St Patrick’s Day Walk
This year, St Patrick’s Day falls on a Saturday. It also falls on the
day that Ireland plays in the Six Nations. Therefore, in his wisdom, leader and
ardent rugby fan Brian Wickham has decided to reschedule the traditional
Slievenamon walk for Sunday 18 March. Details to follow.
Sneem Weekend – May 2018
In May, the club will be heading to Sneem in Co. Kerry for our weekend
away. The weekend runs from 11-13 May and we’ll be staying at the Sneem Hotel.
The cost of this weekend is €149 per person, including two nights B&B and
an evening meal. There will be a walk on the Friday afternoon, two walks on the
Saturday, and possibly a walk on the Sunday.
Walk Report: C
Walk to Red Bank, 18 February. Leaders: John Browne
Eighteen C
walkers headed west to Red Bank for a delightful forest walk. Despite mist and
clouds that never quite lifted, spirits were high as they made their way along
the trail. The trees provided ample shelter. There was a certain Indiana Jones
quality to it, but most of the mud was concentrated on the space where the cars
were parked. The walk lasted 2.5 hours.
